A Blog No More

Courtesy of Pinterest

My thoughts have been split on whether or not to continue my Gifty Chix blog for the coming year.  I know that some of you have followed me for a long time and I appreciate that, however, maybe you are not aware that I also blog under my business name of Brocanteur Vintage?  No?  Well, it seems sometimes that my blogs are abit repetitive and, actually, uninteresting so I will no longer have this Gifty Chix blog after today.  If you wish to become a follower of mine please go to Brocanteur Vintage to keep track of my activities.  It has been fun jotting down my thoughts but it is time to focus on one blog at a time.  I hope that you follow me over at Brocanteur Vintage.  See you there.

PUPPY LOVE

This wonderful little puppy is an American Red Nose Bull Terrier, yes, a pitbull.  He is 9 weeks old and male.

For those of you who are not familiar with pitbulls other than by reputation, let me tell you that they are loyal, kind, sweet and probably the best friend a family could have.

This baby has been orphaned, as it will, by his owner due to an emergency and now needs a new situation.  Poor thing.....

This cutie can be had for $250 delivered to you if you live in the Portland area OR $200 if you live in Seattle.  Please help me find a home for this little guy because he deserves one.  You can call my son Erik at 360 355-6022 if you can help.

Look at that face :)

A Special Holiday Break

In the midst of all the holiday chaos, the best place to unwind is at the beach.  I cannot think of anywhere else I would rather be than sitting by an outdoor fire on a sandy shore somewhere.
I have traveled many places but there is no prettier place that the Oregon coast beaches.  Beautiful.
I hope you can all get away this season and enjoy alittle "me" time.  Time to refresh and reenergize yourselves.

Time Is Running Out

Before we know it, 2011 will be gone, finished, done.  Who would have guessed that it would have slipped away so fast and furiously.  Well, it did for me, at least.  Many new adventures this past year.  Some great, some not so great but all of them taught me something about myself.  This, it itself, is the greatest thing in the world.

Have a happy holiday season!

Christmas Topper 2011

Recently, I was playing around with some vintage music paper, vintage jewelry and glitter.  Sound familiar?  Well, I came up with this piece that made an absolutely wonderful tree topper.  What I made was an accordian pleated star burst, or whatever you call them, then I glued a 1 1/2" circle to both the back and the front to stablize it.  I then hot glued an old vintage earring into the middle and then put clear glitter around the entire center circle.
It was such an easy project and it took me no time at all.  Even folding the pleats took about 10 minutes total for me to do.  I finished it with a small piece of satin ribbon on the back side to tie it to the tree top.

Currently this topper is on my white Christmas tree in my booth in Monticello Antique Marketplace where I sell under the name of Brocanteur Vintage.  Please stop by and take a look at this topper and maybe you'll get inspired to make one of your own for this year's Christmas tree.

Camas Holiday Open House

The Camas Holiday Open House is just around the corner and there will some fun Christmas items available.

Vintage Christmas decorations will be available in my booth in all colors.  If you like pink and blue, along with very old glass bulbs, this is the place to obtain them.  Get them early before they all sell out.

The holidays at Camas Antiques is the most fun you can have this side of the river.  All the booths will be decked out in their Christmas finest for all to enjoy.  There will be lots of sales going on and it is a great chance to pickup a Christmas gift or two before the rush.

So make a plan to come on out and see me at Camas Antiques.  Don't forget to visit my other booth, Brocanteur Vintage, at Camas Antiques, too.
